After surfing on my 30th birthday I came home and started this painting. I had decided on that day that I was going to choose the ways of the sea to lead my life. Since then I had done a little on this piece every so often, and finally finished it the year of my 34th birthday. Much like I have finished my quest to choose the ways of the sea. In this piece I have included wood carving of the tree, various wood stains, and also Batik wax, to give the explosion effect.
When you make a choice to help the ocean, water and the sea, live your life clean, and appreciate all that water has to offer it will reward you to no end. I attempted to have a feeling of the ocean celebrating the arrival of another disciple.
