Is it a volcanic eruption in a sky of blue? Or is it a sunset behind blue clouds. On Moorea the mix of colors was outstanding. I used the wood grain to form one of the volcanic mountains seen on the island. The rise of land out of the sea is very dramatic. The hills are very lush. In fact while I was in Moorea, there was a "forest fire" that burned the entire time. It only burned underbrush and never really got out of control. But you could hear it crackling up on the hill. This painting has many of those feelings included.
