The Surfrider foundation commissioned this painting from me for a fundraiser to save the Gaviota coast. I love to paint but unfortunately we have to even raise money to fight against enviro-villains. The coast north of Santa Barbara is threatened by a large home development. I wanted to show the raw beauty of the coastline. The streams of white raising up represent how the pristine coastline is slowly evaporating away.
"When we lose places undeveloped to 'progress' or to 'advancement of society', we in essence, are losing ourselves."
